The Dormition of the Theotokos Cathedral in Cluj-Napoca, Romania is a famous Romanian Orthodox church built in Romanian Brâncovenesc style, a mix of Renaissance and Byzantine architecture. The cathedral, completed in 1933, is the seat of the Metropolitan of Cluj and is dedicated to the Dormition of the Theotokos. It was built between 1923 and 1933, with a cornerstone laid by Crown Prince Carol II and Prime Minister Ion I. C. Brătianu. The cathedral's main dome is inspired by Hagia Sophia in Istanbul and features 18 stone columns. The interior murals were painted by local artists between 1928 and 1933.
