Description
Starry Night by Van Gogh digital recreation where I enhanced the contrasts, and I isolated the blue color, while keeping the rest black and white. The Starry Night was painted in June 1889 by Vincent van Gogh during his stay at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole in Saint-Remy-de-Provence. The scene reflects the view from his east-facing window just before dawn, though the quiet village below was invented. A bright star, likely Venus, glows in the swirling sky. Despite later calling the painting unsuccessful in letters to Theo, Van Gogh created it during a productive period. Today it stands as one of the most recognizable works in Western art and has been housed at the Museum of Modern Art since 1941.
