Tabanus sudeticus, the dark giant horsefly – digital painting made from a photo where I made some small edits and I added painting effect and texture. In this painting appears a detailed depiction of the fly with prominent blue eyes and wings set against a textured, abstract background of blue and gray tones. The Tabanus sudeticus, commonly known as the dark giant horsefly, is a species of biting horsefly found in Europe and Asia. This large fly has a dark brown body with yellowish markings and a distinctive black stripe on its thorax. Females feed on the blood of mammals and birds, while males feed on nectar and pollen. With a wingspan of up to 3 cm, it's one of the largest horseflies in Europe, often found near water sources and woodlands.
