Rice University (William Marsh Rice University) is a private research university in Houston, Texas. In the foreground can be seen the Lovett Hall, formerly known as the Administration Building, and the institute's first building, built in 1911. In the distance can be seen the Texas Medical Center, a dense agglomeration of hospitals, schools, and ancillary businesses.
