Description
Lady with an Ermine, Mona Lisa, and La Belle Ferronniere – colorful mosaic where I included the 3 famous female portraits of Leonardo da Vinci. The Lady with an Ermine (Dama con l'ermellino) is a portrait painting widely attributed to the Italian Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci. Dated to c. 1489–1491, the work is painted in oils on a panel of walnut wood. Its subject is Cecilia Gallerani (1473 – 1536), a mistress of Ludovico Sforza ("Il Moro"), Duke of Milan. The Mona Lisa (Gioconda) is a half-length portrait painting considered an archetypal masterpiece of the Italian Renaissance. The painting is probably of the Italian noblewoman Lisa Gherardini, and was painted by the Italian artist Leonardo da Vinci, between 1503-1506. La Belle Ferronnière (Portrait of an Unknown Woman) is a portrait of a lady, usually attributed to Leonardo da Vinci, in the Louvre. The woman was first identified as the wife or daughter of an ironmonger (a ferronnier), and later it was identified as Lucretia Crivelli.
